In basketball games, the ball will regularly go out of bounds and be caught by a player or member of coaching staff on the bench. However, normally they’ll just give it straight back to the referee.

In Germany’s Bundesliga, the Artland Dragons Head Coach, who was a 1000+ point scorer at VCU back in the day, caught the ball and while suited and booted, let it fly from way beyond the arc.
