You have to take A LOT of things into cdtnioerasion before forming an opinion like this. First off, Kobe Bryant is just as efficient, if not better, in the midrange shot. Kevin Durant is better in the 3 pointer. Kobe over all is a much much more dimensional and versatile in the scoring ability. Kevind Durant would have to develop his game ten fold to even be considered in Kobe’s league. When its all said and done, Kevind Durant might have more points than Kobe Bryant, but you cannot say that he would be better than Bryant. Do you remember how Bryant was guarded during his peak? He was double and tripled teamed for the most part, and would still find a way to drain shots EASILY. Statistics are not everything, you have to look at the degree of difficulty. Look at Kobe right now, the shots he makes are so difficult. He doesn’t have the athleticism he had back in the days where he could create space for an easier shot, or make acrobatic shots in the paint. He can still score in the paint, but he relies on more on his fade away rather than throwing up a wild shot. As for Defense, you’re right, Durant has the ability to be a better defender, but one thing Kobe has is his high IQ. He has had the highest basketball IQ for a really long time in the game, which has allowed him to completely shut down offensive plays without even being directly involved. Coaches know that Bryant’s communication on defense is what really helps the lakers. besides that he knows when to jump in the passing lane and when he really wants to be, he is an impenetrable lock down defender.
